Food is Medicine
Health on the Menu equips new and existing entrepreneurs to build businesses that increase access to healthy foods in low-resource communities. Our goal is to support sustainable, economically thriving business models that improve community health and well-being.
In Arkansas, low-resource communities face high rates of food insecurity, chronic disease, and limited access to fresh, nutritious foods. Nearly one in five residents experiences food insecurity. This lack of reliable access to healthy foods increases the risk of chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Health on the Menu envisions a future where businesses across the entire food system embrace evidence-based practices that help reduce and prevent chronic disease in low-resource communities.
Because when communities have access to healthy food, they have access to a healthier future.
